Go CNC @ Sodwana Bay – Sibaya

By Sodwana Bay

Whoohoo – We finally got our CNC Machine up and running. It only took us a month to build up enough courage and energy to set it up… But now it is up and we are going full steam ahead!!! Don’t get me wrong we haven’t been sitting on our butts the whole time doing nothing, everyday we let the dogs take us on long walks through our proverbial “Backyard”(Basically the wide open spaces of Sibaya). But then we started to think a little different about our chores in the afternoons. Instead of just going on walks we could also start picking up sticks and pieces of wood to contribute to our CNC Projects! We have always dreamed of using local woods of Sodwana if we ever came to live here… and now we can. So our first project is to make small round discs (Medallions) – either as coasters or just something to hang up on your wall. So far we just doing practice rounds figuring out how best to “Beachify” our trinkets. We have found this amazing beautiful wood. Its hard, durable and best of all- NO SPLINTERS! Our Very first souvenir in Sibaya!

The wild one’s story @ Sibaya – Sodwana Bay

By Sodwana Bay

Our Sibaya Story… You have most probably already seen the gallery of the wild one, but we haven’t shared the whole story about where she came from and how she got from Witbank all the way to Sodwana Bay. We were on our way back to iSibaya after completing a 2 week contract in Pretoria, we decided to make a quick stop at Witbank Ultra City garage. We were on our way to the bathroom after taking the dogs for a walk. When suddenly this little grey ball of fluff appears seemingly out of nowhere, playing with herself. I walked right up to her and picked her up. She never made a fuss or try get out of my arms. Although she is a stray, she acted almost like she use to be someones pet. I have been wanting to get my 5 year old cat a friend for quiet sometime now since all the other pet members have been paired up together. She is the perfect little kitten, never brings out her claws when she plays, is still learning to get along with the big dogs, but has found a playmate in our Jack Russel pup. They remind me a lot about the Disney movie – The fox and the hound. She seems to love photo shoots and uses the house as her own personal palace. She is a true princess. We recently let her go free without any attachments to stop her from going to far and so far so good. She stays real close the house as much as possible. Every day there are new stray dogs and cats, either been dumped on the street or been born into their cruel world. Maybe stop once in a while and try help 1 of these poor creatures out either by giving them a new home, asking around for someone to help adopt them or calling a non-kill animal shelter to help give them a new lease on life.

Sodwana Bay – Sibaya – Green Snake Surprise @ Sibaya – Sodwana Bay

The next moment Tom tells me to keep all the dogs back and stay away. Mr Snake fell down out of the roof with poor gecko in his mouth… At this point I had no idea whats happening, and with two Jack Russel’s weird creatures are never a good combination. So panic ensued… It’s quite scary for a snake to randomly fall on your TV, especially the only snakes you see in the city are behind a glass walls. Bright colours usually means poisonous and dangerous, but Mr.snake doesn’t seem to be either of these. It doesn’t seem that the snake is poisonous cause our Gecko friend got away unharmed – lucky for him. Our visitor seems to be non aggressive cause instead attacking – it rather did its best to slither away from us. So our guess would be it’s a constrictor instead of poisonous. Anybody got an idea? Don’t get me wrong I was super scared that this snake might attack us or our dogs but every snake we have encountered on our property has never tried to harm us so far – which is great.

Sodwana Bay January 2019 @ Sibaya – Sodwana Bay

By Sodwana Bay

The change to our souls… Took a while to get this finished – whohooooo finally it is done! Yes, it took a whole year but we still sharing… hope you enjoy!     This was our holiday trip from January 2019 @ Sodwana Bay. Honestly thinking back on it now, I would say this was the breakthrough point for us, we got engaged (unfortunately was to excited for the camera to catch anything), we missed our dog and cat a lot and hated going on vacation without them… Then there was the biggest problem of all, we were 600km away from the sea when we go back home. We were real unhappy and over worked. We knew it was time for change and it was welcomed! So, we made a pact – We were gonna work as hard as humanly possible, save up as much as we can and move to Sodwana Bay with in that year. We also promised our animals that we won’t go to Sodwana if they can’t go with – as Im writing this they are all around us – living in Sodwana Bay… Whooohoooo! Although this video took a year to create I think it was uploaded at the perfect time and in the right environment… at Sodwana Bay! So thanks for all the friends, family and Clients who have supported us in our dream coming true… Follow our Adventures?
