How fast can a Hippo run under water?

[embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDVFHXJtIBE[/embedyt]   We were so excited to find our very first Hippo. After months of trying to find Hippos we finally were able to see one. Although he was in the distance and all we could see was his head when he came up for air. It was a Hippo!!! This was a special mission of mine to find the Hippo as it was my mom’s favorite animal! So sort of this video and the Hippo Pod video goes out to you, mom hope you watched it from heaven! Drone Talk: I really tried my best to get the glare less with color grading in post editing but obviously I still have a lot to learn. This footage was taken before the Hippo Pod video and as you can see I did not take the time of day and the position of the sun in to consideration. It was noon 12pm and I flew directly into the sun – reflection on the water. Now I know better – get the sun to your back! I’m slowly learning and making many needed mistake as this will only make me a better wildlife drone operator. For Example with the Hippo Pod video – Lake Sibaya was smooth as glass and when I tried to find anything in the water – I could only see dark green – I had no reference points – no ripple or reflection. I did though; get awesome clouds reflecting in the water and super happy about that.

Be Silent – Trusting at Sodwana Bay

Be Silent… Be Still and know that I AM GOD! Psalm 46:10 We all locked in at the moment and with these challenging times not knowing how our future would be after the CORONAVIRUS – we are keeping on going regardless & trusting God to provide and protect. To keep some sense of sanity amongst all the chaos and fear of the COVID-19 virus, we decided that making videos and keep our focus on better things. We located in Sodwana Bay ~ South Africa and we love this place so much that we packed up our lives and relocated to Sodwana. I think if we knew that the covid-19 lockdown would happen – we would most probably still be unhappy and stuck in a big town. Thank God that we did not… We pray the you and your family will be safe and endure this struggle we are going through… be safe and stay Home!

This is really our funniest video we have ever made… Ok, that is really not saying much since we only have 10 videos so far… We are really trying hard to speak to the camera… So far it’s not going so great, it really takes a certain type of crazy to talk to a dead thing and pretend it’s alive… A part from that we are both super shy people – so even imagining we talking to someone is proving to be difficult… Tom is a little more confident than what I am as you can see he mostly speaks to the camera while I am forced to sit in the background – Would much rather be at the back of the camera than in the shot… We are trying and have our funny qwerks. This is just a small part of all the bloopers that we have recorded so far, unfortunately haven’t got any good talking footage yet, but we practicing every day… Experienced You Tubers make it look so easy talking to a camera… It really isn’t at least not to beginners!
