How can a young person live a clean life?

By Sodwana Bay

How can a young person live a clean life? By carefully reading the map of your Word. I’m single-minded in pursuit of you; don’t let me miss the road signs you’ve posted. I’ve banked your promises in the vault of my heart so I won’t sin myself bankrupt. Be blessed, GOD; train me in your ways of wise living. I’ll transfer to my lips all the counsel that comes from your mouth; I delight far more in what you tell me about living than in gathering a pile of riches. I ponder every morsel of wisdom from you, I attentively watch Source: South African LINKHow can a young person live a clean life?

Go Small to Go Big

By Sodwana Bay

So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone—Galatians 6:10 Once we’ve decided to do something, we men often like to “go big.” We think to ourselves: if we’re going to do this thing, let’s really do it. We can bring this kind of thinking, this “go big” mentality, to all kinds of work, even the work God calls us into—that is, the work of loving and serving others. Great things can result, of course. But the mentality can backfire, too—for example, when we set our ambitions too high, get overwhelmed, and can’t follow through. It’s interesting Source: South African LINKGo Small to Go Big

Finish what God started

By Sodwana Bay

“But there is another urgency before me now. I feel compelled to go to Jerusalem. I’m completely in the dark about what will happen when I get there. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd. Hebrews 11:1 MSG Source: South African LINKThis faith?

THE MIRROR OF TRUTH

By Sodwana Bay

“If any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a mirror: for he goeth away, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.” — Jas 1:23-24. THERE IS an old fable of a palace, in which one room was remarkable above all others because it was lined with glass of a special quality. Whenever a person entered whose life was inconsistent with truth, a mist blurred the surface of the mirrors so that he was unable to see himself clearly. It was when the Apostle Source: South African LINKTHE MIRROR OF TRUTH

Flesh and blood

By Sodwana Bay

The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, Generous inside and out, true from start to finish. John 1:14 MSG Source: South African LINKFlesh and blood
