 Have you heard about our exciting new Patreon Page. Become a Patron? So the story goes like this, we have been visiting Sodwana a couple times a year for the last 2 years. We fell in love with the ocean, the gorgeous live stock that can roam free and the secluded, isolated, rural, rusticness and quietness of the whole place. In these last 2 years of wanting to move to the coast we have been watching a lot of traveler Vloggers and small townies that just make normal videos about their everyday lives down by the beach. This really inspired us to start saving and preparing to make that leap of faith. Most of our friends and family know how hard we have worked on our websites and in Pretoria to get where we are today, and we thank everybody who has helped us so far on our journey. We were blessed enough to be able to watch these travel vloggers, especially been able to spend the hours of data to watch each and every video and that’s how we were able to stumble upon Patreon. I haven’t done much research into it myself yet. But I know enough that we can add special and exclusive content on our account and people that are on there are willing to help sponsor and grow the people they subscribe to. The wild one’s story @ Sibaya – Sodwana Bay

Our Sibaya Story… You have most probably already seen the gallery of the wild one, but we haven’t shared the whole story about where she came from and how she got from Witbank all the way to Sodwana Bay. We were on our way back to iSibaya after completing a 2 week contract in Pretoria, we decided to make a quick stop at Witbank Ultra City garage. We were on our way to the bathroom after taking the dogs for a walk. When suddenly this little grey ball of fluff appears seemingly out of nowhere, playing with herself. I walked right up to her and picked her up. She never made a fuss or try get out of my arms. Although she is a stray, she acted almost like she use to be someones pet. I have been wanting to get my 5 year old cat a friend for quiet sometime now since all the other pet members have been paired up together. She is the perfect little kitten, never brings out her claws when she plays, is still learning to get along with the big dogs, but has found a playmate in our Jack Russel pup. They remind me a lot about the Disney movie – The fox and the hound. She seems to love photo shoots and uses the house as her own personal palace. She is a true princess. We recently let her go free without any attachments to stop her from going to far and so far so good. She stays real close the house as much as possible. Every day there are new stray dogs and cats, either been dumped on the street or been born into their cruel world. Maybe stop once in a while and try help 1 of these poor creatures out either by giving them a new home, asking around for someone to help adopt them or calling a non-kill animal shelter to help give them a new lease on life.

Were homeless?! – Abandoned Dogs @ Sibaya – Sodwana Bay

We recently relocated to Sodwana Bay (if you wanna read)… Might it be a blessing in disguise that we found 2 abandoned pups at our new home close to Sibaya Lake.  Commonly known as AfriCanis, these are special Indigenous South African dogs specifically well adapted to hunting. We are so grateful for all the kind hearted people who could help these amazing dogs survive and who tried so hard to find them a good home. Unfortunately, these pups have not really been humanized like we are use to. Basic training was also thrown out the window for these pups, luckily they are still young enough to be trained and at least get some kind of house training. Sometimes it feels like we have three little kids in the house that you constantly need to stop from eating the wrong stuff or try depleting their energy levels so that you can have some peace and quiet. But hey that’s the price you pay being an animal lover. But I would never trade it for the world. Our family has grown with 2 extra which makes the world 2 x extra exciting and worth living. More about the breed: Although the world does not classify this dog as a real breed, I think most South Africans will make a special exception for these extraordinary dogs. They are one of a kind special breed. Internet short version of these dogs: Africanis. Not recognized as a standardized breed by any major kennel club. The Africanis is a landrace of Southern African dogs. It is believed to be of ancient origin, directly descended from hounds and pariah dogs of ancient Africa, introduced into the Nile Valley from the Levant. Pics Below of our new family members: We are proud to introduce you to Female (Left) and Male (Right) ***Just a small word of advice. Don’t ever get a pet because you think its cute as a baby. There is plenty of research to be done on the internet to tell you exactly what you will be getting yourself into before getting a pet. Don’t get a pet that you might abandon when they grow up or you finally get bored of it or have to move!

Verse of the Day: 1 Peter 5:5

Be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” — 1 Peter 5:5 Thoughts on Today’s Verse…. The word “submissive” is often positive or negative based on its relationship to us personally. It’s nice having someone serve us submissively, but serving someone else submissively is hard work. Unfortunately, we are selfish way too much of the time. But God is at work in direct opposition to anyone who is full of pride and unwilling to serve others, especially if those “others” are older believers! Whether it’s easy to wear the clothes our Father demands or not, we are to intentionally clothe ourselves with humility! My Prayer… Father, thank you so much for the great heroes of faith listed in Scripture. Thank you for those other heroes of faith who have shared their examples and lives with me. Bless them with strength and health. And Father, please use me to bless and to serve all of your children, especially those who have lived many years in faithful service to you and your Kingdom. Because of the grace of Jesus, and in his name I pray. Amen.

Everything is waiting…

. . . and he will give you the desires of your heart—Psalm 37:4 When the Apostle Paul wrote the word “good” in the passage below, what did he mean? “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10). He certainly meant the works—the things we are to do, the ways we are to serve—are good things, in and of themselves. And, of course, he meant the works are good for others, good for those people we are meant to serve. Going a bit further, though, could it be he also meant the things we are to do, the ways we are to serve . . . are good for us, too? Of course he did; of course they are. That’s precisely what Jesus was getting at when he said it’s “more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35) . . . or, as Eugene Peterson translates: “You’re far happier giving than getting” (Acts 20:35 MSG). It’s been nearly two thousand years and that notion is still counterculture. But the truth is . . . to give, to serve, to notice, to care, to love, to offer our strength to others, to live for others, is actually what brings purpose, fulfillment, joy to our lives. It’s how we men actually get to fully-alive and what-you’ve-always-dreamed-of kind of stuff. It’s one important reason why King David sang, “Delight yourself in the Lord; and he will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4). Okay, so what do we do? It’s simple. The only way to figure out whether Jesus was right on this or not, is to test it—personally. Someone needs you today. Someone needs you, right now. Look around. Who is it? Reach out. Go ahead and help him or her . . . and then, examine the state of your heart after you do.

The Sand under your feet and the Gorgeous waves in your site! @ Sodwana Bay

That day of travel is always the hardest. Early morning (for most earlier than usual) long drive, real early packing, double checking you have everything you want and need for your vacation. For most of us who hate mornings this is the most tedious time of the whole vacation. Not including the horrible long journey you have to take (especially from pretoria!). But guess what?! The best part is yet to come! Once you get to Sodwana Bay, you have unpacked everything that needs unpacking, you might have a few hours of daylight to spare (depending on what time you get to your accommodation grounds). Why not take a few minutes to reward yourself and go take a stroll on the beach. The reward is worth the wait! After that long hard journey down the only thing I can imagine making it all worthwhile is definitely seeing the sea afterwards. After all thats what you are there for! That warm soft sand between your toes and that beautiful sound and sight of the big wide gorgeous ocean. It doesn’t matter if you are there to: Snorkel, Scuba Dive, open water fishing, free diving or any other activities you can think of, it is still nice to take a step back and enjoy the ocean for what its worth!
