BEACH BEACH BEACH – Sodwana reopens its beach!

By Sodwana Bay

Sodwana National Park Tuesday Jun 9th 2020 Koa Sinag Whohooo! Sodwana Bay National Parks gates are open again for visitors… long awaited by locals and business owners as ISimangaliso welcomes day visitors. Although is not full steam ahead yet – it is a start! At the moment you can only do beach walks, and Fishing. Basically no Commercial activity yet… At the gate we were created with friendly smiles and an orange cone to indicate social distancing and hand sanitizer. On the beach everyone adhere to the #covid-19 rules by keeping their distance. We are so happy that we are in Level 3 and hope that we can soon go into level 2. We all need to adhere to the rules – even though they were declared unlawful by the constitutional court – so we can exit the #LOCKDOWN. Too many self-employed individuals and businesses have been effected by the COVID-19. Please stay at home and wear your mask! View our video as we encounter the beach for the very first time after lockdown…

Monkey Attack – Another Great Video on YouTube @ Sodwana Bay.

By Sodwana Bay

Sodwana Bay National Park – Attacked by Monkeys!!! This is our very first video that instead of having music added we actually talk… These cheeky vervet monkeys decided to gang up on me behind the car on Sodwana Bay’s Beach parking, you can see me reversing whilst one of the smaller female vervet monkeys was tryna intimidate me into running away. Although, I already tried to run and that was a mistake because when I started running the whole pack of vervet monkeys tried to chase me… Lesson learned – don’t run away from vervet monkeys, but rather stand your ground and intimidate them…!?!? Although its more screaming than actual talking, this video was super scary when taken, but watching it now is super funny… Sorry for the Afrikaans, we will try to speak more English in the future….
