Get certified by SAMSA as a competent Coastal Skipper with Surf Launch Endorsement on completion of your Coastal Skippers License course. The Coastal Skippers Course is hosted at Sodwana Bay – the course consists of 2 components Theoretical and then Practical. If you do not own a SRC (VHF) yet – you will also have to complete a radio course successfully before you can launch your boat in South African waters.
Categories:
Category A — vessels operating any distance from shore;
Category B — vessels operating less than 40 nautical miles from shore;
Category C — vessels operating less than 15 nautical miles from shore;
Category D — vessels operating less than 5 nautical miles from shore;
Category E — vessels operating not more than 1 nautical mile from shore and 15 nautical miles from an approved launch site;
