Reel Diving and Shearwater Research announce distribution partnership

Canadian dive computer manufacturer, Shearwater Research Inc., and European scuba diving equipment distributor, Reel Diving, have announced a distribution partnership, set to take effect from 1 August 2024.
Based in the Swedish city of Gothenburg, Reel Diving supports a number of premier scuba diving brands, with a particular focus on technical diving, including Halcyon, Santi, Suex, Avatar, Cressi, Shark Dive Gear, Kwark, JJ-CCR, K01, and Ammonite. The distributor has recently expanded its operations with a new subsidiary based in Nottingham, England, to enhance its service and support capabilities in the UK.
Since its inception in 2004, Shearwater has become one of the most popular brands of dive computers, particularly amongst the technical diving community, and is widely regarded for robust computers with simple, intuitive user interfaces – a philosophy it has extended to recreational computers and rebreather controllers.
The companies said in a joint statement that the new partnership ‘aims to consolidate the European market and expand the Shearwater sales network, significantly bolstering Shearwater’s brand presence and accessibility across Europe.’ Reel Diving’s distribution channels will enable Shearwater to reach reach divers in 25 European countries, including Scandinavia, the UK, Ireland, Malta, Poland, the Baltic states, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia, Croatia, North Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, and Greece.
