Emoyeni Dive Lodge – Sodwana bay

Emoyeni Dive Lodge is situated in Sodwana Bay, and offers guests self-catering accommodation.

The name Emoyeni means “place of the wind” in Zulu, and the lodge offers guests a choice of booking En-suite Chalets, Chalets without bathrooms, or Safari Tents. Each unit can accommodate 2 people and is furnished with double beds or 2 single beds. All the units are serviced daily.

The En-suite Chalets and Chalets without bahtrooms have electricity and fans, and for convenience, linen provided. For the Chalets bath towels are provided and guests need to bring their own swimming towels. Towels are not provided for the Chalets without bathrooms and Safari Tents; guests please need to bring their own. The Safari Tents are equipped with lights and fitted sheets are provided; guests please need to bring their own bedding and towels. The Chalets without bathrooms and Safari Tents share ablution facilities with hot-water showers.

The lodge has a communal kitchen that is equipped for self-catering, braai facilities, as well as a swimming pool. Catering is available on request. Please note, the owner lives on the premises with their pets. Emoyeni Dive Lodge is reached by a short gravel road, which is not always ideal for low-clearance vehicles; guests need to enquire from the establishment about the condition of the road before arrival.

Emoyeni Dive Lodge offers dive charters, scuba training, skipper training and Vhf radio courses. Sodwana is a popular diving spot with its pristine reefs and warm waters. Guests can go fishing, snorkelling, diving, birdwatching, and more. Please note that the iSimangaliso Wetland Park may charge an entrance fee to day visitors.

    From Johannesburg/Pretoria take the N4 Witbank highway
    After the Middelburg toll plaza take the Hendrina/Ermelo turnoff
    Proceed through Hendrina, Ermelo, Piet Retief and Pongola
    For the dirt road - 50km after Pongola turn of to Jozini. Through Jozini turn right at the fork and follow the signs to Mbazwana and Sodwana
    For the tar road - approx 100km after Pongola turn off to Hluhluwe, through the town and follow the signs to Mbazwana and Sodwana
    Proceed from Mbazwana to Sodwana bay
    Approximately 5km from Mbazwana turn right at the Emoyeni sign and the camp is about 200m on this dirt road
