PADI launches Master Scuba Diver Challenge, offering free renewals for Members and a dream trip to the Maldives for scuba divers
Scuba diving training agency, PADI, has announced the launch of a new ‘Master Scuba Diver Challenge‘, encouraging its dive centres and instructors to increase their continuing education certifications between now and 31 December.
PADI members with the highest percentage growth in Master Scuba Diver ratings will be in with a chance of winning a free PADI Membership renewal for 2025. Each participating instructor will also have their Master Scuba Diver application fees waived for 2024.
PADI’s Master Scuba Diver Rating is a bonus certification that can be applied for by divers who have completed PADI’s Open Water, Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver certifications, at least five Specialty Courses, and have a minimum of 50 logged dives.
Participants will compete in regional groups based on the number of Master Scuba Diver applications they have previously processed, for a total of 24 first-place winners spread across instructors and dive centres worldwide.
In addition to providing its members with their own prize incentive, PADI is offering an extra incentive to bring customers into the Master Scuba Diver programme with the chance for all students who work towards receiving their certification during the competition timeframe to win a free luxury holiday to the Maldives.
Divers wishing to enter the competition for a free Maldives holiday can sign up on the PADI Website for one chance to win; with more chances to win awarded for each part of the programme completed: 10 extra chances for attaining the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating; 5 for earning the Rescue Diver certification; 3 for Advanced Open Water; 2 for each Specialty certification; and one for Open Water. Divers can gain an additional 5 chances to win by signing up to become a PADI Club member.
The winner will receive return airfare for two people to Malé and six nights’ full board accommodation with two dives per day at Vilamendhoo Island Resort & Spa. Two additional winners will receive a recreational PADI eLearning course of their choice.
‘The PADI Master Scuba Diver rating is considered the ‘black belt’ of recreational diving,’ said Lisa Nicklin, Vice President of Growth and Marketing for PADI Worldwide. ‘We are rallying PADI members to challenge more scuba divers to continue their education and transform them into confident and prepared divers.’
