A Prayer – The Lost Skipper

In the vast expanse of ocean blue,
Where waves embrace both sky and sea,
John Matambu sailed, his heart so true,
Guided by stars and winds wild and free.

His vessel, a dance upon liquid grace,
Carved through swells, a silent prayer,
Salt-kissed lips whispered tales of space,
As the horizon beckoned, a distant lair.

But fate, capricious mistress of the deep,
Unfurled her tempests, fierce and wild,
And in that maelstrom, secrets she’d keep,
Swallowed the skipper, her favored child.

Now we gather, hearts heavy with grief,
To seek solace in the ebbing tide,
Praying for John, lost beyond belief,
His spirit adrift, forever to ride.

O mighty ocean, cradle him gently,
Carry his essence to distant shores,
Let the moonlight weave a path intently,
Guiding him home, where love implores.

John Matambu, skipper of courage and might,
May your soul find peace in the azure expanse,
As we light lanterns, casting prayers into the night,
Hoping you’ll return, guided by celestial dance.

Amen
