ROMANS 8:1-2
“1 Therefore there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior]. [John 3:18] 2 For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has set you free from the law of sin and of death.
“Those sticky sins”
Now, how do you act freely when you do not feel free and needed? How do you live this new life when you are still holding on to the old habits—looking back? This is how: You clothe ourselves with the new being. You change your wardrobe; you throw your old self away.
If you like to gossip—that is part of the old self—you let this go! You should stop this behaviour as it is harmful to those around you. If you know of any sins that are prevalent in your lifestyle, those must go as well! Basically, you need to surrender everything. If you are unaware of any, ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart and when you are presented with sin, be humble and fix it!
Let our reflection of Christ and his handiwork in our lives not contradict the salvation we got freely. As you walk and talk today, challenge yourself to bring your excitement into every conversation you might have. Just like everything else, sharing the good news is a skill that should be honed at all times.
Let’s Pray:
Father, I surrender myself completely at your feet and will keep on doing so on a daily basis. Help me with those sticky sins that just don’t want to let go of me. Help me, Lord! Save me from myself.
In Jesus’ name. Amen!
