Philippians 4:6-7

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

“Now make it yours.”

Can we, as children of God, be under the power of Anxiety? Is this a sin, mental sickness, or cultural behaviour?

Anxiety is an emotion which is characterized by an unpleasant state of inner turmoil and includes feelings of dread over anticipated events. Anxiety is different from fear in that fear is defined as the emotional response to a present threat, whereas anxiety is the anticipation of a future one. It is often accompanied by nervous behavior such as pacing back and forth, somatic complaints, and rumination.

2 TIMOTHY 1 amp Verse 7Says:

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].

Timothy summed it up perfectly, God gave it all to us—not will or maybe—it is ours in Christ Jesus. As we receive the Holy Spirit, God’s power, God’s LOVE and God Peace is built into us. These 3 gifts are intertwined with our souls. It is now our duty to make this “Gift” part of our daily lives.

We can’t be like the world anymore. It is so discouraging to think that we can trust God but, in the same breath, doubt Him. If one has a mindset like this, they will amount to nothing and not be rewarded by the promises of God.

Let’s Pray:

Father, sometimes things get too much for me, and I put my focus on the circumstances and not you. I lose control and become something I do not want to be. I am ashamed of what I have become. I surrender and bow to your Power and firmly grab hold of your immense LOVE FOR ME and I lay my anxious heart at your feet.

Heal me, mold me and shape me into the prayer warrior you want me to be… I am yours. Make with me as you please!

In Jesus’ name. Amen!
