Our favorite thing to do besides going to the beach and snorkel is going to the lake and admiring the wild life that lives just next door to us! Lake Sibaya is sort of like our free nature reserve that we get to visit whenever we feel like it. It feels like home!

Our camera decided it wasn’t gonna play along on the day we shot this video! So we made an experienced amateur 1855 movie clip! We really weren’t keen on flying the drone as the Hippos looked so peaceful and we didn’t wanna scare them back into the water. This was the first time we had ever been able to find the whole Hippo pod basking on land! Starring Keira (AfriCanis dog), hippos and crocodiles. Super fun day at the Lake. Lake Sibaya is so close to us that we can literally hear the Hippos at night grunting! So we consider Lake Sibaya to be part of our backyard, since there are so few houses past us! We had been searching for months for some sort of sign that there might be at least one Croc in the Lake! Crocs are not as easy to spot as Hippos since they are so flat and mainly hide in the reeds! We discovered the best way to find a crocodile is to look for moving logs in the water or to find the shimmer in the reeds, more often then not, the shimmer you see in the reeds is a Nile Crocodile!
