Sport Dimension Inc., a leading provider of toys and water sports recreational equipment, has announced the acquisition of the Stohlquist watersports brand from Aqualung Group.

Stohlquist was originally part of the Aqualung Group’s stable – together with Apeks, Omer, Aquasphere and US Divers – before Aqualung Group’s acquisition by the Barings investment management firm during 2023.

Barings offloaded the US Divers snorkelling brand shortly after the deal was sealed, saying that it wanted to focus on scuba diving equipment, including the supply of kit to military and professional divers. It seems Stohlquist – an outdoors firm specialising in personal floatation devices (PFDs) and ‘paddle sports’ apparel – was also up for sale.

‘We are thrilled to welcome the Stohlquist brand into the Sport Dimension family,’ said Sport Dimension president, Kurt Rios. ‘Stohlquist’s reputation for excellence and dedication to creating top-of-the-line water sports gear perfectly complements our existing product offerings. This acquisition underscores our commitment to providing customers with the best equipment for their outdoor pursuits.’

‘We see tremendous potential in the Stohlquist brand,’ added Kurt Rios. ‘Our team is eager to collaborate with Stohlquist’s talented designers and engineers to continue innovating and delivering cutting-edge solutions that meet the evolving needs of water sports enthusiasts.’
